[BIO] Roger Delahaye (Poltamento) [Argentina]
Roger Delahaye, multiinstrumentista, compositor, productor, sound designer y Dj, cuenta con una trayectoria musical de más de 20 años. En la actualidad desarrolla varios proyectos al mismo tiempo entre ellos «Telescuela Técnica», junto al ingeniero Hernán Baldi, donde exploran y explotan las posibilidades sonoras de instrumentos electrónicos y electro-mecánicos construidos por ellos y su interacción con el lenguaje de la improvisación, el Kraut rock y el minimal-tech, y «Poltamento», su alter ego computarizado, ambient y abstracto, con el que ha editado más de 10 albumes instrumentales a través de Bandcamp y netlabels (Fuga, Pencilboy Records).
A multi-instrument composer, producer, sound designer, and DJ. During the 90s Delahaye was the head of GIRADIOSES, a shoe-gaze and dream-pop band with which he edited three albums with the participation of and production by Daniel Melero. Beginning in 2003 he co-founds OLGA together with Flor Zavadivker, an electric pop and folktronic project which to date has edited two albums and a number of compilations in Chile, France, and Japan. In 2010, Delahaye travels with OLGA to Sweden for a two-month tour, playing live for the contemporary dance company, NorrDans, in the performance “Lyckliga i alla sina dagar”. At the end of the tour, OLGA bids farewell to the Scandinavian country with a show at Urrkult, the world music festival. In October 2012 he appears in Gracias Tonales! with invitees such as Javiera Mena y Gaby Lucena (Miranda!).
Simultaneously, Delahaye worked on two projects of electronic and experimental caliber, POLTAMENTO, a computerised alter ego, ambient and abstract, which was edited with bandcamp and net labels (Fuga, Pencilboy Records) for over 10 instrumental albums. He also integrates TELESCUELA TECNICA, together with Hernán Baldi, where they explore and exploit the sound possibilities of electro-mechanic instruments and custom electromechanics, and their interaction with the language of improvisation, kraut rock and minimal tech. His production work includes Julieta Sabanes’ debut album “eStar de Camisón” and “La Respuesta” by Haien QIU. He has also produced remixes for CIneplexx, Lara Pedrosa (No Lo Soporto), Yilet and Burning Metro, Las Armas, Calendar, Aylu, and Luis Marte, among others. As a sound designer, he composed the sound band for the Fundación Cimientos, and in 2012, the interactive work “Sinestesia” with Rox Vazquez and Federico Petrozzino for the Festival Pixelations at the University of Cordoba. He also composed the sound band for GOTTAR, an interactive and multimedia dance performance. He is currently working on the debut album for his new MoMA indie rock project and Lara Pedrosa’s debut album.
Since 2007 he has been working as a post producer for audio and sound at Turner International Argentina.
