Imagine, one day, a police squad violently gets into your house, takes under arrest your wife and locks her up because of being a dangerous genocidal criminal during world war…in her previous life. Imagine Santiago is not the city you used to know, where something seemingly unsignificant happened sometime, changed the reality, dissolved it, and finally overthrew it like a decomposing corpse that stands right in front of you. Imagine we’re in war age… against 1891. Imagine you go mad at trying to comprehend the cancerous world, putrid world from inside, patched and stinky, where the bases of the logical itself tear and wring out of your hands. That’s KP, a policeman wanting to be in the inmune agent of the reality. Genocidal fascist, seeking for a final solution up there in astral matters. Fanatics and terrorist backed by a putrefied and decadent State Government. The Dead of Death.

One of the Lluvia Ácida primary sources is literature and science fiction cinema. Even before doing music, we were getting together to watch movies and exchange books from different authors such as Lovecraft, Phillick K. Dick and Isaac Asimov. A particular movie triggered the wish in us of express our fears and fantasies: ‘Soylent Green’, a cheerless anticipation from the overpopulated future, with a society founded secretly in cannibalism.

Our first song, recorded in 1996 was entitled ‘Sol Verde’ (‘Green Sun’), and it was inspired in that film (Soylent Green, 1973). In 2007, joined by writer Sergio Amira we did the album ‘Audioficciones’ (‘Audiofictions’), a tribute to more recent chilean science fiction. And currently we got inspiration from the images in the graphic novel ‘Policía del Karma’ (Karma Police) from Jorge Baradit and Martín Cáceres, as we depth in a more organic and experimental sound. The tracks got borned in a one and only impro-session that gave us enough material to process in a slow digestion. During months, these tracks brewed and we publish the entire package now it has its particular ‘viscosity’. To that, we added two interesting remixes from partners Daniel Jeffs and Dj Fracaso, plus, a track available in two different versions, one with Jorge Baradit’s voice, and other with the rapper Gen.

Having this album, we’re hoping to reflex an ambience more than a plot, we try to project a feeling that brings out from this graphic novel: the imminence of our own arrestment by the hands of the abominable KP. If this music gets to disturb you and so taking you to the depths of a dark uchronic Chile, our target is accomplished.
