[BIO] Alfredo Ibarra [Chile]

Alfredo Ibarra, aunque nació en Santiago de Chile, pasó gran parte de su infancia viviendo en una serie de países, Estados Unidos, Argentina, y en la adolescencia trabajando en el Caribe y Nueva York, para después trasladarse a Nueva Zelandia, país en que vivió por 5 años hasta que el 2009 vuelve nuevamente a Chile.

Su pasión y enfoque ha sido siempre la música, componiendo tanto para sus propios proyectos así como también haciendo colaboraciones para artistas visuales y una serie de documentales. Desde un comienzo ha estado influenciado por los distintos países en que le tocó vivir y conocer, así como también por los ritmos y enfoque de los ’80. Estos elementos contribuyen directamente a su acercamiento a la música que hace hoy en día.

Alfredo Ibarra was born in Santiago, Chile, although he has spent an important span of his life living in other countries. During his childhood, he lived in the US and Argentina, and later working posts took him to the Caribbean, New York and onto New Zealand, where he lived until 2008. He is now based in Santiago, but still travelling because of several music projects.

His passion and focus has always been music, whether making it for his own projects or for collaborations with visual artists and documentalists. Since his early days, he has been stirred by the music of the different places he has traveled and lived in, and the insights it offers into cultures, peoples, and moods, plus the special sounds that evolved from the 80s. These elements have contributed directly to his music making today.
